WebNov 13, 2024 · Hi, The plastic lens on a PIR for an external light became brittle and crumbled into pieces. I did a neat repair using some plastic from a plastic squash bottle. It looks like new, but the sensor now barely detects motion unless it is within an inch of the sensor. Is there some other type of plastic which might do the job ?. Fred Chan WebDec 7, 2024 · Use an old tooth brush to scrub the inside, if the outside isn't too scratched up - then using a dab of almost any polish - I've used everything from Brasso, aluminum polish, and many other polishing compounds I had alying around - they all seem to work the same - really good when you rub the lenses out using an old sock or shirt.
