WebMar 1, 2024 · There are three potential failure points in the headlights. The bulb, the ecu (ballast) and the ignitor. You can work out which it is by first swapping the bulbs side to side and then the ecu's. The ignitors are buried in the lamp housing so the hardest to change. I recently had problems with mine, first was an ignitor going. Then the ecu failed.

It could be any of them (front corners or tail light panels) Removing the bulb will only reduce the amount of voltage being taken away from the headlight ballasts allowing them to work again.
