Also just guessing, when the screw is all the way out I should have more rear brake and screw in to reduce pressure to the rear. After having difficulty getting the brakes in my panel truck to bleed, we discovered the old OEM proportioning (combination) valve was rusty and corroded inside. I replaced it with a new brass one from a local supplier, which remedied the bleeding problem, and the brakes work fine. WebbMost proportioning valves have front and rear built into the same block. This decreases braking to the rear and increases the front braking pressure due to weight tranfer and balance. Otherwise the rear brakes would lock up easily and your front brakes would not be as effective as they should be.
